Healing doesn’t stand still. With one act of blessing another, in the small drama between two people, the goodwill I felt within my heart with “Dancing Cranes” evolved into “For the Sake of Love“. From microcosm to macrocosm, from individual to global, that’s how healing works.

Intro to Healing Steps Series
Healing Steps 1
One of the reasons why we are, often, afraid to look at our anger, is because we think that is all there is. We’re afraid if we give voice to our rage, we’ll never stop screaming. But that’s not true.

Step 2: Letting Go
Song: Dancing Cranes

[Intro to Healing Steps Series]
When you are a target of relational aggression, the last thing the aggressor and her collaborators want you to do is speak out. The first thing you often lose, as a result, is your voice.

Step 1: Speaking Your Truth

It’s My Birthday!

And since self-esteem is a big part of our discussions, I want to share a song I recently wrote that comes from the pride and joy I feel in being a woman - and that’s at any age. So here’s my song, a celebration of being an older woman.

Backstabber

This is a song I wrote from my personal experience with relational aggression.

The double dragon is an appropriate symbol for the topic of relational aggression and female power - two heads coming out of one body.

For in truth, the dragons exist one within the other, as both aggression and empowerment exist within each person.

Relational aggression isn't so much about a specific person, a "bitch" we love to hate, as much as a state of mind; a set of choices we all can make.

Certainly, aggressors and targets are specific roles that people do play, but the point here is that the possibility for their manifestation exists in every person.

On this healing journey, it is important to remember that the reality of an aggressor is only a choice away for each one of us.

Be willing then, to see yourself, if only in potential, in both roles - aggressor and target. Doing so will give you the blessing of insight and understanding, and with that, true empowerment.
