Demian Elaine’ Yumei is the author of this blog, and the voice, lyricist and melody muse of DreamSinger, a songwriting team celebrating the human spirit, as well as, author and activist.

Demian wrote her first song, “Future Song” at the age of 34, after two years of a particularly intense healing period.

It took another 15 years of learning, living and growing to release her debut CD, “For the Sake of Love“, in her partnership with Stacey Young. As a result, Demian has developed an appreciation for those gifts that only time and experience can confer.

Demian, a new grandmother, considers herself a “baby” older woman with a lot more growing to do before she earns the title of “elder”. She is a mother of three children - two young adults, a daughter and a son, and a minor - a ten year old she home schools. Demian wrote the children’s book, “Little Yellow Pear Tomatoes”, published through Illumination Arts, winner of four awards, for her little girl.

Her commitment to the empowerment of women and children, and honoring human dignity within all people, has led Demian to naturally embrace the topic of relational aggression, which she views as an aberration of normal negative emotions that exist within and among people.

She brings over 33 years of experience with various human rights activities and healing modalities, as well as a keen understanding of human nature in these writings. Her love for her fellow sisters is palpable.

It is Demian’s heartfelt desire that through addressing the issue of relational aggression, we will not only heal from its wounds, but reclaim our right to a truer and deeper relationship with ourselves and each other, as we were meant to.
