I need your help.

I love the wearing “all the hats” thing. It’s part of why I am an independent artist. However, it’s also one of the drawbacks, because for one, you only have 24 hours in a day, and two, you’re not necessarily good at everything.

My greatest challenge in writing my book, Where There’s Smoke, has been the editing. If I had an editor, I could pass the manuscript to her and then look over her corrections and go from there. But I play both roles, and you can run into trouble doing that. It’s hard to see your manuscript with fresh eyes when you just spent weeks working on it.

So what I propose is this. I’m going to post pieces of my manuscript as I go along. Any feedback would be greatly, greatly appreciated. If I have time I’ll post podcasts of the excerpts, as well.

Please comment on whatever you wish - the content, typos, grammar, anything that strikes your fancy. The thing is, your contribution will not only go toward the editing, but the final outcome of the book, because your insights and experiences, will undoubtedly impact me and my understanding. So in a very real sense, you will be helping me to write this book.

I really want to get this project done. I know it will be helpful to many people. Eventually, I’d like to have it translated, too…but first, let me get this done in my own native language of English!

Okay, my commitment. If you do this, I will promise I’ll have new material up regularly. This will help to motivate me to continue.

We’re not alone in this, you know. Not in the wounds of relational aggression and covert abuse, and not in the healing.

And just so you know…to combat spam, only the first comment needs to be moderated. Once you get approval, all your subsequent comments will publish automatically.

Look forward to hearing from you!
