Well, I’ve needed to take a step back while I processed this latest happening with Megan Meier. It really pushed a lot of buttons for me. While I was processing this, I created a forum – Voices of Healing. I just needed to do something creative in response to this young girl’s death. The more I read and the more research I did, the closer I felt to all the children who felt they needed to take such drastic measures.
In my work with relational aggression, I was aware before, but this experience has deepened that awareness.
Yesterday I recorded two podcasts. I’ll record a few more and then start posting them here. I want to eventually keep this blog mostly for podcasts and the forum more for dialog. That’s why I implemented the “Submit A Post” feature to this blog. Because of the forum, I’ll be taking that feature down.
This blog gets large amounts of traffic and my web stats show that a significant percentage spend a half an hour and more browsing through the articles. In today’s surfing atmosphere, that’s a long time for a website.
But though I get a fair number of private emails, there’s hardly any comments on the blog.
I’m hoping the forum will encourage people to engage in dialog with each other more. I’m just one person, one opinion. We need to talk about this, all together, folks. We need to share our stories, state our opinions, put our heads together and see what we can come up with that’s better than just shaking our heads and saying “Isn’t that terrible?”
I need to hear from you. Comment here or come to my new forum, www.voicesofhealing.com and let’s talk.
This is my first announcement for it. I still have work to do. I want to create pages for the individual kids who have fallen victim to bullycide. Isn’t it sad we have a word for it now?
But the forum is ready for posting though if you want to join.
I hope you do
