On this day I declare freedom from an inauthentic life. I declare the right to be who I am and the responsibility to be accountable for my actions and speech.
I allow myself to be angry, jealous or fearful, addressing these emotions with honesty and finding an appropriate and respectful way to express them.
I allow myself to be kind, loving and compassionate, never letting others to stop me from doing what is right.
On this day I take a stand against the tyranny of gossip, slander and exclusion, either from others or myself, and say no to peer pressure when it is to do harm or inflict injury, whether it’s psychological, emotional or physical.
I declare independence from the seduction of cliques. I claim my right to create community.
I declare my life mine to live with as much integrity as I can.
